We need to figure things out on the ice this week, there's no denying it's been a rough go thus far. Tonight I'm erring for a bit of simplicity, bringing forth my two favorite team totals and leaving the props on the cutting room floor.
I think many will be on Steven Stamkos to score tonight, and I totally support it. He's one away from 500, albeit has been near 500 for over a month, and gets himself a soft Vancouver defense he's had recent success against.
I get it, but I'd rather just roll with goals scored here, and if Stamkos scores and the Lightning end on three goals I'll just casually go cry in a corner.
Vancouver is allowing 4.1 goals per game at home in their past 10 games, and these two just met six days ago — a 5-4 Lightning win. Tampa has netted four goals in six of the last eight meetings and holds a significant power play advantage tonight. I expect a power-play goal from the Lightning to help here, and find this price to be extremely reasonable.
The Stars ran into a bit of a funk to begin 2023, scoring two or fewer goals in four of the first five games of the new year. They've since picked it up big time, tallying nine total goals in their last two against some pretty solid teams too in Calgary and Vegas.
Now, the Stars look to keep the momentum rolling with a visit to San Jose. The Sharks are allowing a league-high 4.4 goals per game on home ice over the last 10 games and have given up 4+ goals in 10 of their last 13 games.
James Reimer is confirmed in net and has already seen the Stars twice this season, allowing four goals in both contests. Reimer has had his struggles lately, allowing 29 goals over his past seven games. I like the plus-money here on Dallas keeping it rolling.
