Watch: 49ers long snapper announces extension with epic video

San Francisco 49ers long snapper Taybor Pepper announced Saturday that he was returning to the club in the most epic way possible.

Pepper posted a video to social media confirming he reupped with the 49ers for the next three years, but not before pulling on some heartstrings.

The video begins with a solemn feeling, hinting that Pepper is saying goodbye. After a few words of thanks and reflection scroll below shots of Pepper and his teammates, the video is interrupted by a record scratch followed by a famous clip of Leonardo DiCaprio in "The Wolf of Wall Street," leaving no doubt about the long snapper's return.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Pepper's new three-year extension includes a $1.5 million signing bonus.

The five-year veteran has played for the 49ers since 2020, appearing in 46 games over three seasons. Undrafted out of Michigan State in 2017, Pepper joined the Green Bay Packers as a free agent, playing four games during his rookie season. After missing the 2018 season, Pepper played 16 games for the Miami Dolphins in 2019 before joining the 49ers a season later to replace Kyle Nelson, who unfortunately fell victim to the yips

Since stepping in for Nelson, Pepper has been a model of consistency, playing a position not often lauded for its importance. Now, the 49ers have one less thing to worry about, as Pepper is locked up until at least 2026.
