5 takeaways from the Tennessee Titans 2024 schedule release
Denny Simmons / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK

The day has come for Titans fans, who have been patiently waiting since January, as the team's 2024 schedule has finally been released.

The Titans, along with the other 31 teams in the NFL, released a unique video to officially announce its 17-game slate beginning this fall. And just like last year's video, it's already going viral.

Hope springs eternal for football fans at this point in the offseason. Titans fans are already chalking up wins and losses for the upcoming campaign, so without further ado here are my five biggest takeaways from Tennessee's 2024 schedule.

1. Season Opener in Chicago

The Titans kick off the season on the road with a Week 1 matchup against the new-look Chicago Bears. Caleb Williams will garner plenty of attention leading up to his NFL debut, but Will Levis and the Titans have an opportunity to play spoiler and announce their presence to the rest of the league in Brian Callahan's debut as head coach.

2. Home Opener against Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers comes to Nashville for the Titans home opener in Week 2. An achilles injury ended Rodgers' 2023 season before it got off of the ground, so I'm sure the 40-year-old gunslinger will be looking to make up for lost time. However he will have to best the most improved secondary in the NFL if he plans on jetting back home with a win.

3. Early Bye Week

The Titans catch a really tough break with their bye week landing in Week 5. Tennessee has struggled with injuries over recent years, so a bye week later in the season would have been preferred as players will pick up bumps and bruises along the way. The bye week does come before a home matchup against the Indianapolis Colts which will serve as a tone setter in the AFC South.

4. One Primetime Game

The Titans were awarded just one primetime game in 2024. The NFL is showcasing a rematch from one of the best games in the 2023 season on Monday Night Football as the Titans are set to do battle with the Miami Dolphins. Like last year, Tennessee will head down to South Beach to square off with a Dolphins team looking to avenge a soul-snatching 2023 loss at the hand of Levis and the Titans.

5. Season Finale vs. Texans

The Titans close things out with a potential high-stakes matchup with the Houston Texans. Perhaps the Titans surprise some folks and turn this game into a win-and-in game with plenty of postseason implications at play. It does help that this game will be in Nissan Stadium, but the Titans must find a way to reverse recent history in the AFC South's hottest current rivalry.
