Another key Knicks player ruled out for season with injury

Julius Randle’s season officially came to an end earlier this month, and now another key rotation player for the New York Knicks is following suit.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Tuesday that Knicks forward Bojan Bogdanovic is set to undergo season-ending surgeries. Bogdanovic is battling foot and wrist injuries and will have procedures to fix both issues.

Bogdanovic, 35, was a big trade-deadline addition for New York in February. He averaged 10.4 points per game over 29 regular season appearances as a Knick, operating as their most potent scoring threat off the bench.

In the playoffs, Bogdanovic had been less effective, likely because of his ailments. He was putting up 6.0 points in just 12.8 minutes per game during the team’s first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. But the loss of Bogdanovic still really stings for the Knicks, who have been very physically battered this series (though they still lead 3-1).

The Knicks will now have to rely on younger players like Miles McBride and Precious Achiuwa to provide scoring sparks off the bench in Bogdanovic’s absence.
