Auburn DL Marcus Harris Declares for the NFL Draft

The Tigers are losing a massive piece upfront.

Marcus Harris, the anchor of Auburn's defensive line in 2023, has declared for the NFL Draft, per his social media.

Harris had a solid season for the Tigers, finishing 2023 with a career high in total tackles (40), tackles for loss (11), and total sacks (7.0). He graded as one of the best defensive lineman against the run in the country according to PFF.

Jim Nagy, the executive director of the Senior Bowl, tweeted out some praise about Harris before the LSU game earlier this season.

"There aren’t many true sleepers this far into (College Football) season but (Auburn) DT Marcus Harris probably qualifies since we haven’t seen his name on here at all," Nagy tweeted. "Former Kansas transfer grew on @seniorbowl staff during tape study with his instincts & activity. We had two of his Park Crossing HS (Ala.) teammates in last year’s game—Patriots QB (Malik Cunningham) & Packers WR (Grant Dubose)."

"I want to thank GOD for giving me the knowledge and ability to play this game. Secondly, I want to thank my MOM, FAMILY, AND SUPPORT SYSTEM for being there with me through it all.

"I want to thank my teammates for pushing me to be the best version of myself, and going through the up's, down's, and adversity with me. I want to thank everybody at AUBURN UNIVERSITY from the academic advisors, to the equipment room, to the trainers, to the janitors for making my job easier and giving me a good laugh every here and there.

Lastly, I want to thank COACH FREEZE and his COACHING STAFF for the memories and bond that will last a lifetime, and every other college coach that had a part of teaching me and molding me into the player I am today.

With that being said, I HAVE DECIDED TO FOREGO MY LAST YEAR OF ELIGIBILITY AND DECLARE FOR THE 2024 NFL DRAFT."
