Thanks
Happy Thanksgiving, it is a good day today, even though we had practice this morning. That was kind of wierd im still use to doing nothing on holidays. I am very thankful for my job and everything it brings to me, im also thankful to my mom and the opportunities she has made for me with all she sacrificed, and im thankful for god and him allowing all this to happen in my life. Last night we had a game against the Miami Heat and we got a win, that was a good way to start off the holiday, and we play tomorrow so we are going to try to end it on a good note. Today i will get some good food grub out at like 3 peoples houses and chill. Im glad my brother got to come to Portland and visit me for this whole week so i do have family with me. To everyone whos reading have a Happy Thanksgiving and know that today is about giving thanks, not turkey, but i will eat a full turkey myself.

Hey Greg, happy Thanksgiving! It would be awesome if you took some pics of the feasts you're attending today and posted them in the Yard.
-
Happy Thanksgiving Greg I hope you enjoy today. I know it is probably a little weird not having your whole family around on the holiday. Just remember they are thinking of you and wishing you well. Also great game last night. I also liked the new look a lot

Happy Thanksgiving G.O.!

Yo Greg!!! Happy thxgiving man. And enjoy it, cuz it's back to business tomorrow. lol.
With that said, I know there's been a lot of talks about your performance this season. One week they're high on you, then the next week they're down on you. I'm sure you know this, but the only stat that matters is the W. and it's no coincidence that the team's had their best record so far in YEARS. You do make that much of a difference GO, no matter what it says on the ppg and rpg column. Keep it up Greg, and thx for always putting the team first. That's what's gonna get you rings GO.
KEEP BEASTIN'!!! -
i totally agree!

GREAT win against the heat! we just kept on them the whole game...plus he wade tried talking mad poop to joel and the refs...blazers straight up grinded a blowout and i LOVED every damn minute. got my in-laws hookup too, literally the best seats in the rose garden...only thing better would be to be actually playing on that court...i'll be courtside again for the hornets tomorrow, different seats tho...hope to watch us grind another blowout. glad you had a good holiday, there is definitely plenty for us to be thankful for, in life and as blazers!
holla at the red beard. :) -
HI GREG, I THINK YOU ARE VERY SWEET. YOUR MOTHER MUST BE VERY PROUD. WELL, HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

Don't eat the whole turkey Greg. We need you fleet of foot tomorrow against Chandler. I would be thankful for another double double tomorrow night. Great game last night. The Rose Garden is an awesome place to watch and play (I'm guessing) games.
-
All of Oregon and the NW is thankful for you! Relax Gee-O. You and the Blazers are way ahead of schedule. I love the new look. You look younger and all business now. Do what you do, be who you are and you'll find many more things to be thankful for in the years to come.
-
Glad to hear you got to spend Thanksgiving with a family member....The new "Shaven" look is the right move ! Practice is always good Greg, please put/keep short jumpers in your game....they expect you to back down on them...mix it up and you'll rise to the top !
Go Blazers !! -
I don't know if you really read this, but if you do, please take this to heart from someone who spent most of his life in Portland....
I know you have put more pressure on yourself to live up to everyone's expectations, and that it seems to have become a bit of a burden. You should always keep this in mind. You are in the best possible position for a young man in the NBA. You are surrounded by great cats who care about you, living in one of the most beautiful and progressive cities in the world, and have a fan base that adores you. As long as you work hard, stay honest, and stay the humble and respectful man that you are becoming, the Blazer fans will never abandon you. No, you aren't putting up the numbers you are capable of, but that does not matter right now. You are a part of something special, something that I really believe Portland has not ever had an opportunity to experience, but you are not alone. You will someday look back on this time and realize just how hard you have been on yourself. You don't have to be. Enjoy this time, because we the fans are, and we want you to feel the love that the entire state has for you and your teamates. Soak it in, play hard, and have fun...EVERYTHING else will come in due time.
Aloha from The BIg Island in Hawaii...... -

happy Thanksgiving to you!

Happy belated Thanksgiving. I haven't posted in a while but you are always in my thoughts. I have a 1 year old son named Aiden. He is about as big as 1 year olds get so my oldest son calls him Oden.
Also if you ever get discouraged about a bad game or two just look at how much Joel has improved from his early days. Good luck agianst Tyson tonight!! -
Hey Greg, Happy Thanksgiving! Go out and have a fun game against the hornets. I'm sure you're warming up even as I type this. Mad love and respect to you bro! Once you settle in and go easy on yourself things will come together for you. We all hate to see you looking glum and serious. Don't do anything for the fans or the media just play the game for yourself and your team and you will do great. Take care Greg and don't worry be happy! :)

Four double-doubles in 8 games? 10-6 against a murderous schedule? 8 wins and 3 losses since you came back? I've got a lot to be thankful for this year, and one of them is to be a Blazer fan. So far so good, Big Man. Keep it up!!
-
Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
As others have said, we fans really appreciate all the hard work you've put into rehab and in the early part of the season. We hope you'll give yourself the grace to continue to develop - the entire team is still learning and growing and we know that the best is yet to come. I hope you can be patient with your own development, and with that of your teammates. Enjoy the blessings that have been given you!

Greg--
Have you seen that AT&T commercial with the talking thumbs? Does that freak you out as much as it does me? So disturbing. -
Happy holidays Greg!
-
they have a name man
-
I wish I could have given you a pecan pie, Greg!!
-
I am thankful for having a classy, nice bunch of guys to root for - Greg, Roy, Rudy - right down the list, I like this team on and off the court.
-
Huge game today (Detroit) Love to see you smile big guy and great defense! Another Double Double for GO! Well done big man, well done!
-
Greg, first off happy thanksgiving and warm holiday wishes for you and your family. Second... I am totally stoked how you and the boys are holding court for us. I ve lived in portland for 20+ years, and have followed the Blazers faithfully. While I was watching the game the other night against Chicago... I told my wife, " Baby, I have never been so giddy about the Blazers before"... I was giggling out loud at the a$$ whoopin you guys were laying on them. I hope you have time to read this, I never thought to write to any athletes before, but you just seem like a different cat. So keep on making improvements and stay focused on winning... If you need a break i'm out in Hood River, I can catch a fish from a puddle in the road, and i'll show you all the secret spots if you like fishing... Rip city!!!
-
Great game tonight Greg. The Pistons were scared to go into the paint, your presence was felt. Very good job going up quick for the dunks in tonight's game.
-
hi greg. if you say hi back to me i can tell people i talked to greg oden. that would be cool.
-
Happy Thanksgiving G.O.!
-
Hey Greg, if the Rhianna thing fizzles out, I say give Vantrese (see above) a call, she's pretty hot! Go Blazers!!
-
Happy Thanksgiving GO! I just wanted to let you know I think you played great against the Pistons on Sunday. I can't believe you had 8 boards in the first 9 mins of the game. It really seems like your timing and spacing on the floor has improved dramatically. Just remember to take it one game at a time. I have been a hoops fan since I was 10 and now I am 33. I have never been more excited for the NBA season compared to this year. You have the city of Portland on your side and I know that you will deliver when it counts.
-
Hi a little past Thanksgiving but I hope you had a nice holiday. I just finished reading your interview with the RIF in school. I enjoyed reading about you. I myself would like to play basketball in the NBA one day. Do you have any books you suggest I read to help my game? Also, do you know of anybooks about basketball players that are intersting?
You new fan,

Greg, your going to be a great player in this league, you just got to go out there and play, injoy it and don't let the media or fans get you down.....it will come...you just need to take it easy and let the game come to you and do what you know how to do....i know you love to game, so just get out there and have fun and don't feel your the savior of the team......your going to be just fine, big guy....just go out there and have fun and it will come sooner then you think GO BLAZERS and GO!
-
Hi Greg, Thanks for your note of gratitude for Thanksgiving. I am a huge fan of yours, (met you at the fan appreciation game) and of this new Blazer team as was my 90 year old mother! A week ago Saturday, my mother's health took a turn we took her to hospital. She was doing fine, when I left her she asked me to put the TV on the Blazer channel, so that she could watch your 6 PM game. She was always happy, always loving, and always making others happy. She never saw that game, she passed peacefully when her heart stopped at 5:45 PM. I know she is in that Blissful Heavenly state now. I feel so happy that you and the team are such great models of kind and strong characters. You're someone my mother, Mary Lou Thomas was very proud of. Thank you. Joanna
-
Joanna,
Sorry for the loss of your mom. Sounds like she was an amazing person and fan.
Greg,
Keep up the hard work, we all can see that you are doing your best out there and it's going to take some time before you truly become the player we know you are. Just be patient and don't get down on yourself. Keep smiling Greg! GO BLAZERS!! -
Greg,
Koyote and Joanna are right on.. We all appreciate your honesty and hard work... You are 20 years old and need to have some fun out on the floor... Forget about the media and do it for yourself... I remember when you were at the ESPY's and you were great, plus you looked like you had fun!! We are all behind you and want the fun loving old GO back! GO BLAZERS!! -
Hey Greg, Not sure if you'll ever have a chance to read this, as you are clearly a very busy guy I wanted to take a minute to let you know that I really appreciate your contribution to the Trailblazers. I'm sure this has been a tough 1.5 years for you, and I can only imagine all of the pressure you have to deal with given the press and all of the excitement surrounding being the #1 pick. Anyhow, I just wanted to say "thanks" for being a good guy and giving your effort. I talk to a lot of fans here in Portland and we are behind you, whether you are at home or away (I frequently cheer at my tv when the team is winning), whether you are winning or losing. You'll be great, just keep your swagger going and don't sweat the small stuff!
-
Greg! What up my man, I love your reads, and I watched the Greg Oden Cribs before you moved to my fine city of portland, classic, you remind me of myself, when I was s young buc like yourself, don't worry about that Boston game, just think of it when you practice every single day until you play them again, then crush them.Oh and just have fun at Toronto tomorrow, and be nice to those Canuck's! Cheers!
Blazermaniac Andy -
a bout what .....?!
