Good Week
This week has been very good one for me. Last Monday was the first day that I could play 5 on 5. I felt really good out there. The first couple of games was really hard to get back in to the grove of things but after I settled down the game became alot better for me. They still havent just thrown me into playing every game, but I play every other game and every other day. The second day was so much better for me my wind was doing ok and I slowed myself down. Getting out there just got me really excited for when the season starts.
Other than me playing on me I moved into my new place. It really nice and just relaxing to have a view of the city of Portland. Also knowing that im in the place that I own feels good too.

Where did you move to Greg? Downtown, West Hills or near Frye?
-
Don't forget where most of the Blazers move to when they come to P-Town, L.O. and West Linn.
-
Congrats on the new place... but I think the whole world is pretty much excited for the when the season starts because we all want to see you play!
-

-
Look at the OS bench going crazy. I don't know who's 'trying' to defend GO, but I'm sorry for the guy.
-
that would be jeff green gettin posterized, even though g.o. missed the dunk (if i remember correctly).

-

-

Greg, glad to hear you had a good week. I've been trying to follow your progress in the Oregonian but I only hear bits and pieces. I'll be there for your 1st game Oct. 7th - I can't wait!!!! Keep up the good work. Todd.
-
I can't wait to watch you! it's been too long! C u soon on the TV! Love you! Miss you!
-
That is great news Greg! Well done on the rehab, your hard work will payoff....
Have fun and keep it real! -
I hope you learn to love Portland. It's a different kind of place but it's special. You said you had a view, but nothing beats the view of Portland at night. Keep it real and don't get burnt out. Have some fun too.
-
Hey, saw you at Target today! Looks like you were throwing a BBQ... nice day for it!
-
You're finally starting to get in that condition where your side doesn't hurt and you're out of breath. That is when basketball gets really fun. I'm trying to think of what house you could possibly be living in that give you a view of Portland. Must be what people call sky line.
-
That's great man. I cant imagine what you are feeling right now. So many ups and downs. I hope you have good people around you that you can talk to that you trust. No matter what happens in your athletic life you always have to stay true to yourself and have people you love in your life. I am 24 and I cant imagine the pressures you are going through. Two things pressure does, busts pipes, or creates diamonds. Dont let the media, fans, coaches, friends kill you with pressure.
I am glad to see you taking back to the court.
One thing can be said about the season though, it is going to be a crazy ride. Can a team possibly have to much talent?
-
i know you watched the rudy fernandez vs USA game...can you believe that guy? you're gonna get some nice lobs to dunk with, catchin more balls than jenna jameson. and i dont think you actually need to live up on skyline to see the view of portland...just stand on a chair or somethin...GOOD LUCK on the season, its gonna be FUN AS HELL TO WATCH YOU GUYS PLAY.
-
she actually quit the porn industry. sorry to burst your ball.
-
It's good to see how close you are to being fully back on the hard court, GO. Keep up the good work.
-
F*** yes ODEN!!
Glad to hear you're getting back to normal. Stay humble and keep working hard -- you're doing awesome big guy! -
Greg Oden has a view of Portland wherever he stands
-
Nice to hear from you about your progress. Do you sense how HUGE the anticipation is among "BlazerNation" for this coming season? You know that it is out of control!!! I understand that this team has to play the schedule before the 08-09 Blazers can be evaluated. GO!! Throw us a bone in "the Yard". What do you think of this roster? Are you hyped? or are you "lets just see how we all play together for a bit"? I "DVR'd" all the summer league games just to get my "Blazer Fix" and I am pumped about "Batman Batum" as well as "Rex" and "the Finnisher" I think Nic Batum will shock people with all the little things outside the stat sheet that he does. Anyway, bottom line is that this team will only go as far as your health will allow. So we want you to take care of yourself, eat healthy, live healthy, and don't ignore your body if it tells you something isn't right. R U READY!!!!
-
YO IM GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOUR HEALTHY !!!!!
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AND ANDREW BYNUM GO AT IT !!!!!
LAKERS BABY !!!! -
If you're still training a lot on the bike, you'll probably love it up there in the West Hills.
The climb up SW Montgomery to Greenway and the Fairmount Blvd loop is pretty steady. You can then cut over on Hewett over the Sylvan overpass into Washington Park. Skyline is also pretty sweet. There are tons of cyclists out there on a good day. -
Good to hear you getting excited about playing! I love your enthusiasm and can't wait to see more of your dominance!
congrats on the new crib! -
Hey Greg! Welcome to the neighborhood. My fiance and I are season ticket holders who live in the Pearl (5 blocks from the Rose Garden). Don't know quite where your new place is, but it can't be far! We're sooo happy that you're here in Portland! See you in the local restaurants, especially after vanquishing the despised L*kers!
-
The Pearl isn't 5 blocks from the Rose Garden, it's on the opposite side of the river. Nice try though, you sounded sincere.
-
OG! Can't wait for your season to start!! Guess what, you're starring in the #1 question for my new quiz all about the athlete bloggers in the Yard:
http://www.yardbarker.com/backyard/articles/How_well_do_you_know_your_Yardbarker_athlete_bloggers/317805
Oden blog fans, you'll definitely get at least one question right!:) -
The people of Portland can't wait to see you play, Greg. Being a lifetime Blazer fan, I haven't been this excited for a basketball season since the days of Clyde, Buck, Jerome, Terry, and the late great Duck. You, Brandon, and the rest of the team will bring Ripcity back to P-Town!! GO BLAZERS!!!
-
I can't wait to see him play heh
-
I can't wait to see you maybe become a Blazer, Michael Conley!
-
Patrick Ewing is back in the NBA in two forms.
-
I like the way you are approaching the season, recovery and life in general. Now... How does CB McLovin like the new digs?
-
Hoo hoo! Hearin you talk about the five on five's gettin me all hyped for the season, I can-not-wait for oct training camp.
-
Good to hear youre getting ready to play
-
Wassup Rajon!! Glad you got a ring.
Bet your teammate KG wont talk all that smack with 300 lb G.O standing next to him next year!
Keep it movin GREG!!! Just remember, you are bigger, stronger, and better than everybody in the NBA. No MERCY! -
i think kg would talk smack to jesus christ given the chance....
"JUST TRY TO BACK ME DOWN JC, I F***IN DARE YOU!"
dude's intense -
Oh, and for the geography major.
It is possible to be 5 blocks from the Rose Garden and in the Pearl. Just closer to the River pearl district. -
The river itself is more than 5 blocks in width. Next you're going to tell me the pearl stretches out and actually includes part of the steel bridge.
-
off topic as hell but old-town cuts the pearl off from the river...yuppies would never live down there (besides the condos on the river) and even those are kinda shady.
if GO had a place there he could sit n look out at the building where his first ring came from.
BLAZER MADNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
GREG! I have heard that you are a student of the game. If you want to get a huge leg up on your competition study Hakeem in the 94 and 95 playoffs over and over again. He was simply on a different level. Study Bill Walton's outlet pass. Bill Russel's defense. Dennis Rodman's rebounding. If you study and incorporate these legends combined with your natural ability you will be unstoppables. Have a great year. Keep studying and have fun with it. We are all very proud and thankful of all of the hard work that you have put in.
-
That's what I'm talking about, Big Fella! Thanks for putting on a great show today at the Rose Garden. My daughter and I had a blast!
