Orlando, Orlando
Yesterday was my first day here in Orlando, at the NBA combine. There are a lot of good players out here. The hotel everyone is staying at is crazy big. I thought it was Disneyland when I saw it from the highway. It is very nice. I get lost just about everytime I step out my room. The crazy thing was when Michael Conley Jr. and I got here there was no one to tell us where to go. I guess now that I declared people are not gonna look after me, I'm supposed to be a man now. I gotta get use to that aspect. Today was my physical. I did much better than I thought I would in the shuttle run, 3/4 court sprint and the vertical jump. I could have done the bench press but I got a little nervous and got out of it. I don't think I was supposed to do it anyway, but there was no one to tell them. After the testing we had a light work out, which involved a lot of turn around, off the block jump shots, which was ok. I usually shoot hooks, but it's good to learn something new. At the end of the workout we had to shoot an NBA three-point shot. I definitely air-balled mine. Afterwards, I was just shooting around doing my best "Along Came Polly" impression of "letting in rain" and "iceman." I hit 2 in a row! Maybe I should say that everytime I shoot a NBA three-point shot....

1. Is Jordan Conley the truth in the long jump?
2. Now that you are entering the NBA, do you think King's Island will actually let you ride the Face/Off this time?
3. Is it true that your Ohio State teammate Mark Titus once hit 25 NBA-range 3 pointers in a row?
Respectfully,
Andy Keller

I'm from Portland and I was extremely happy when Portland got first pick. I know a lot of commentators are saying bad stuff about the Northwest but it really is a nice place to live. I hope the Blazers pick you first in the draft because, not to put pressure on you or anything, but I think you could bring a championship to Portland (or several...).

Words are spreading around the internet that you are a freak ...
"Oden is faster than Durant in the 3/4-court sprint, quicker in the lane-agility drill, and has better numbers in the running and standing vertical leaps. And, Oden has a mind-boggling 7.8 body-fat percentage ... most big men are north of the 12 percent range. For instance, other top-rated big men such as Washington's Spencer Hawes (13.0), Duke's Josh McRoberts (13.7) and Pitt's Aaron Gray (10.8) don't compare.
Let's get to the specifics.
Oden is 6-foot-11 without shoes, 7-feet with shoes.
He weighs 257 pounds.
His wingspan is 7 feet, 4.25 inches (fourth best in the draft). His standing reach is 9 feet, 4 inches (the highest of anyone in the draft). His standing vertical is 32 inches, his running vertical 34 inches.
The lane agility drill, where a player runs through cones alternating between running backward, sideways and forward, is 11.67 seconds. And his 3/4 court sprint was 3.27 seconds.
The thing that jumps out is Oden's speed and agility.
We all know Oregon's Aaron Brooks is fast. Brooks finished the 3/4 court sprint in 3.2 seconds. Oden was 3.27 seconds. Durant, meanwhile, finished in 3.45.
Oden's 11.67 in the agility drill speaks volumes to the footwork so many scouts rave about. Durant did the same drill in 12.33."
...of nature.

How much (if any) contact have you had with LeBron?
and what advice has he given you throughout your college "career" and this draft process?
Go Bucks

I'm from Portland..and between you and me, it doesn't rain here as much as people say. We only say that to keep Californians from moving up here! (kidding..they move up here anyway! ;).. Did you see Spidey 3 yet? I didn't like it as much as the first one.
You seem like a nice guy, don't lose that quality...it'll serve you well in life.
Go Blazers

If Portland draft's you I have a realtor who's been my friend since high school who will find you a good house if you're interested.
Also I'm hoping Portland drafts you because it'll make Live or 2K8 (by the way, which one do you play) easier to dominate. You can come over and play, but I get to be the Blazers.

Huge Sonics fan here. I was wondering if you would mind saying something negative about the city of Portland to the national media before the draft?
It might go a long way in making it possible for the Sonics to draft you #2.
Something along the lines of:

Don't listen to those from the "northern province," of Oregon. We not only have less rain than Seattle, we also have Paul Allen as our owner... Enough said. Those folks are just upset because we also have a Washington native by the name of Brandon Roy - the 2006 NBA Rookie of the Year. Enjoy Oregon and be like the many who came - and stayed... One day, even you will be able to play on the Blazer Allumni Team.

I'm really looking forward to Summer League and then Opening Day with Oden in Scarlett and Black. I hope that you can help continue the awesome turn around that is happening in Portland. Kevin Pritchard (known in Portland as merely KP) hasn't said to the public that he's gonna draft you yet, but he's sold. Not only that, but the coaching staff (Nate McMillan, Mo Lucas, etc) can't keep from dropping your name to the local media. Have fun with your new career. I'm sure going to enjoy watching it.
By the way, if you do end up coming here, what number are you going to want to wear?
Go Blazers!

Unoficially, welcome to Portland!!!! From a long time Blazer fan Here's hoping the Blazers draft you. I will tell you this. Portland will welcome you with open arms. It's a great city. If you get a chance once you're drafted sit down and watch some footage of the Blazers when they played in the Memorial Coliseum. Pay attention to the crowd. it was the loudest arena to play in. The fans of Portland have been waiting for a reason to show the same thing in the Rose Garden. It will happen again. The management is finally making some great decisions and giving the fans a reason to come back. You can be a huge part of Blazermania and Rip City!!!

Congrats on the great workout. You really got the net buzzing when those workout numbers went public. Can't wait until we can welcome you to Portland officially.
Portland weather isn't as rainy as it sounds. Portland only gets about 18 inches of rain a year. About an inch more than you got in Indianapolis. The winters here will be warmer, with a lot of cool but not cold days with drizzle and light mist. Almost all the snow around the Portland area happens in the mountains outside town. You saw Mt. Hood coming into town. Portland has a perfect arrangement with Mt Hood. You get to go visit the snow right down the road, play in it for while, then leave it there when you done with it.
I'm sure you're probably hearing this a lot, but yourself and Brandon and LaMarcus and Sergio are going to get along very well together. All four of you have very similar personalities. You guys are really going to hit it off. Those three guys are just as real and unaffected by all the celebrity stuff as you are. I'm happy you lucked out and got good people like them as teammates. I'm happy they got you, too.

If you buy a house, get one in Southeast Portland, like in Laurelhurst. All the Blazers seem to live in Lake Oswego or the West Hills, that's so yuppie...come live with the hippies and other SE PDX weirdos instead. OK, have a good time in Portland and we'll see you on the court next season! (I'm a season ticketholder)

I'm sure you've already gotten learned alot about Portland over the last two weeks, but here is one more. Portland is a basketball town and we love our Blazers more than anything. This is the perfect city and team for you to join, with all of our young talented players like Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jarrett Jack, and Travis Outlaw. And with you in the middle, we are sure to dominate the West once again. You haven't even put on a Blazers uniform yet, but the town is buzzing with anticipation for next season. We can't wait to see you here!!!
