ALL STAR BREAK

This weekend is the NBA All Star weekend in New Orleans. I will not be attending, it hurts that i will not be able to play. It just sometimes gets to me, the fact that i cant play this whole year. I would love to be out there and play with my peers like being able to play in the rookie/sophmore game with my draft class. Even next year i wont be able to play with them, i guess there is a rule that you have to play at least one minute to be able to say you played, so ill be a rookie next year. If i would of went to New Orleans i probably would have had to do everything with the media that all the other players have to do i just wouldnt of played in the game. So i decided not to go cause i want to play and it would just dissappoint me and put me in a bad mood if i was there.

Ya its a good idea to keep it easy during the break. Cant you play against some next year when you go to rookie sophomore game. Whats with the team as of late they've been dropping maybe they are tried so the break will do good. Hows your dog and the challenge with Sergio?

Well just look on the bright side...at least you'll be eligable to win Rookie of the Year next season. And you will still get to see some of your old friends in next years all-stars, for the rookie/sophmore game.

Just remember; it's not like you ASKED for this injury. You just kind of have to believe that everything happens for a reason. You'll come back stronger than ever next season and Portland can't wait.

Hey G.O. Things happen for a reason. You will be back even stonger next year. God always has a plan even though we may not know what it is. Believe me, you will flourish next year. I am looking for to see you play when you all come to DC. Stay strong and remember you are highly Blessed!!!!

I know you're the enemy, but I feel like you're a good guy. I'm a Nuggets fan. LOL. But just look at my team. Atkins out with that sports hernia recovery. K-Mart has had a hurt leg so many times, yet he is back and doing great. And especially Nene. (God bless) He is going through a very rough time, so remember that you have it better sometimes. When he gets back, he'll be kickin butt in no time. And when you get, he'll be there to whoop on you. J/k. I wish you the best G.O., and wish you a speedy recovery

After all the hype, I was honestly looking forward in watching you play this year. Im sure its frustrating to be recovering from an injury while the rest of your teamates/friends are able to perform. But given your God given talent you will be back in no time! This year will be over soon enough and who knows..you might of actually benifited from watching from "afar" than actually being thrown into the fire. The speed of the game and the competition is the best in the world. Im sure you are eager to test your skills amongst the worlds best competitors. But you will undoubtedly get your chance for years to come. Keep your spirts up and work hard at getting back. I'm excited to see you play and perform at a high level. With you in the lineup, Portland will be back to it's glory years in no time! :)

I know this year is disappointing. I hope you take all of the feelings that you have about not playing this year and focus them. Focus them on getting back, getting better, and then taking it out on the other teams next year. Let them have it Greg! Let them all feel the wrath of Oden! I can't wait to see you play either. I can still remember hearing about your injury. Man. I just got married in Hawaii and was actually wearing your jersey. My brother in law came up and told me. I had to stop wearing the jersey because people kept coming up and telling me that you won't be playing this year. I couldn't take it. So Greg, we can't wait for you to play either. We love you man and are feeling your pain. I can't wait to see you hit the floor again! Good luck in the rest of your rehab. Go Blazers!

Are you able to run yet? I'm 15 and had microfracture surgery Oct. 6. I do PT 3x/week and am running on an aqua treadmill. They told me to start lightly jogging on a track but it still hurts when I try that. I really want to play baseball this spring and I am frustrated I am not progressing faster.

Greg, let me see you, post a picture! I miss you very much! You will be out on the court soon. I am really sorry it is taking so long. Use your off time wisely Greg, you won't have this much time to smell the roses and have peace & quiet time, you are going to be super busy soon. ok, look at it this way Greg.... oden vs durant will still exist in the rookie/sophomore challenge next year. I was checking your blog like I do every day, to see if you had an article on all star weekend. I thought you probably would have stayed home. At least you don't have to answer all the media questions that seem to go on and on and on about the knee and you being sidelined for the season. O, and yes, keep your head up. Cheer for LA and ROY! QUESTION FOR U GREG AND OTHERS... anyone think we the trailblazers will be in the playoffs?

Can't you play in the rook/soph game next year as a rookie? I don't know if you want to go up against your own draft class but it would make sense if they let you play with the rooks. Maybe you can help a rookie team win their first game in...forever???

every time i get frustrated things dont seem like their going as planned.i get mad and sad.every time though i look back it happens for a reason.i dont know how or why but it does.your gonna have so much fun next season. the best feeling in the world being a kid and waiting for christmas,when that day came it was the best day ever.your almost their.hope everything is going good.

  MO, the guy is doing us a favor man. He is giving us insight into his life, so don't get caught up on capitalization. I for one love hearing about G.O. no matter how he presents it. It's like going over to his house and telling him to make his bed. If you get confused/annoyed by uncapitalized I's, maybe the internet isn't for you, read a book. And I don't think it's fair that you (Greg) will be considered a rookie next year. Even though you haven't been on the court, you've been paying your dues and the league should acknowledge that. I heard you wanted to be a dentist if it weren't for basketball. I am 4th year dental student here in portland at OHSU. On Feb. 29, we are having a Give Kids A Smile event in which we provide free dentistry for hundreds of kids that don't have access to care. The mayor of portland and the governor of OR come every year. It would be great to have you swing by and brings some smiles to the kids' faces. It is in the morning from 9-12, you could swing by anytime. The team will be in town getting ready to stomp the Lakers that night. Contact me if you are interested, and we can set something up.

It sounds cheesy, but Portland would totally give you a big ol hug, dude. NO mater how next year goes, we've got a good guy on our team, and that's all that matters. You're going to gobble up players next year. And if you don't, we will hang in there until you do. It's only a matter of time!
